The Art Program here at McGilvra offers students of all grade levels and abilities numerous opportunities to explore their creativity and help them to become stronger critical thinkers.  Throughout the year student art work can be seen on display around the school, in places such as the library and hallways and of course all in the art space!  McGilvra’s K-5 art program has students visiting the art space three days a week for 30 minute classes, every other week.   All art projects are based on Washington State Art Standards for the appropriate grade level.  Students learn about artists and art movements, while having the opportunity to work in a variety of mediums.  Emphasis is put on the process rather than the end product and the motto is “There is no wrong in Art!”.
